KARINA WILLIAMS
A forum to reflect on 2025 and prepare our minds and hearts for 2026.

With over 20 years of clinical experience, Karina Williams is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker dedicated and passionate about helping individuals and couples navigate their relational dynamics, trauma, and grief. After earning her master’s degree from NYU in 1998, she built her expertise in outpatient mental health clinics and agencies, providing individual and group therapy and case management. Karina completed postgraduate training at the Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy in 2004. Originally born and raised in New York City, she moved down to Columbia, SC, with her husband and two kids in 2005. Karina has focused her work on building safe, collaborative spaces for clients to explore connection, communication, and self-compassion. She founded Focus3 Wellness in 2015 to offer a private practice dedicated to mental and relational health. Drawing from Internal Family Systems, Relational Life Therapy, and Polyvagal Theory, Karina tailors her approach to help clients examine their beliefs, emotions, and behavioral patterns that shape their relationships and sense of self. Beyond her clinical work, Karina’s lifelong commitment to wellness is reflected in her dance background. She has taught Zumba and developed her own Balletbody Sculpt class, merging movement and mindfulness. In 2010, she served as a guest instructor and choreographer for the USC Dance Department’s Maymester musical theater program. After twenty years in Columbia, Karina remains passionate about supporting others in their journey toward healing and personal growth.
